osremarktext

Holds the texts of the text notes when the storage mode is set to database. The header data of the note lives in remarks and points here through remarks.textid. Under file-system storage this table stays empty; the text then sits in a .txt file below the NOTE directory.

2. Length limit

The column is physically nvarchar(max) and its alias type is called os_nvarchar8000. The server still allows only 8000 characters: 8000 pass, from 8001 on the import fails with -1028 instead of truncating. The error stack then carries -1042611967 with the message The maximum field length (8000) of field >MEMO< is exceeded by value (…). The limit therefore comes from the application, not from the schema.

Measured against enaio® server 12.0 (DMS engine 12.0.769.25242, Microsoft SQL Server 2022).
